Post-game (Everything Has Changed ending) CANON POINT She/Her GENDER Savant ASPECT Tier 0 DISCORD LEVEL
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Grace is a calm, clever woman who likes to help out other people. As a Muse, Goddess of the Arts, Grace is heavily interested in music in particular, as well as any other art forms. Her natural music leans heavily towards jazz, but she's capable of anything.

SHARD
Black with flecks of gold throughout. Shaped like an ordinary rock at first glance, but on further inspection, one end has been sharpened to a point.

ASPECT TATTOO
On the back of her neck, behind her hair.

PERSONALITY
At the beginning of her story, Grace is a college dropout who feels directionless, without any purpose in her life. After a fateful meeting with the god Calliope, who dies in her arms and passes her godhood on to Grace, she finds herself in a whole new world of magic and monsters, and more importantly, finds a new purpose. Grace pours her time and effort into helping her new friends (the other gods) to move forward, embracing change, the way Calliope once did, as the only way to make things better, and rejecting the idea that wallowing in old ways and old feelings will ever help anyone.

Grace is clever, more in a street-smart way than a bookish way, always aware of her surroundings and able to perceive things others don't, wary of the ways people may try to manipulate her, and willing to use what connections she has to get a leg up. She isn't malicious, though - she cares deeply about the people around her, and she is always willing to offer help to those who need it. She's just also aware that not everyone has good intentions, and she doesn't want her offer of help turned on her. She's a bit sardonic in her speech, using sarcasm and wit as weapons, but she knows when to be serious as well. Grace isn't much one for direct confrontation, usually looking for a way out of a bad scenario through her wit, or occasionally through charm. That said, she'll stand up for herself and her friends when she feels it's important - she's just always looking for ways to turn the tide in her favor that don't require fighting.

BACKGROUND
Grace grew up as a pretty normal girl in America, with two parents and three brothers. Not sure what she wanted to do with her life, Grace dropped out of college and ended up joining her best friend Freddie's band - though even this didn't give her life much direction. All that changed, though, when she met a mysterious and enchanting woman named Calliope... who only hours later stumbled into her apartment, stabbed and bleeding to death, and apologized to Grace before dying in her arms - and transferring divinity to Grace in the process.

Charged with Calliope's death, Grace was given one week to prove her innocence and solve Calliope's murder, or face execution. In the process, Grace learned all about the Idols - Greek Gods who had fled their home country to the new world in the wake of human wars and have been living undercover since. And Grace learns of the prophecy once given to Calliope, that now rests on her shoulders: The Idols cannot continue while the last Muse lives.

Solving the mysteries before her led Grace to challenge the ways the Idols, led by Athena, had been living. In doing so she affected great change, leading to her new friends - her new family - moving into a new age together, one where they are again open about their godhood to the people of Earth. Since then, Grace has been functioning as a public face for the Idols - a PR rep who explains their wills and intentions to the mortal populace.

ABILITIES & SKILLS
ABILITY 1 As a Muse who is heavily connected with music, Grace's songs are her ultimate power. Using this power, Grace can pull out the true feelings in someone's heart by having them sing them for her, and she can use her songs to inspire certain feelings or encourage certain decisions. When Grace uses her power, she and whoever is around are pulled into a vision of another space, very much like entering some kind of magic music video. These are just visions, however - they do not change the actual existing reality or teleport Grace and her audience anywhere else. If something breaks the song, the vision will end as well. The visions are typically built off the feelings of whoever is singing, and can help those watching visualize events or understand the singer's emotions.

It's important to understand that Grace's songs cannot manipulate other people or their feelings. Grace cannot force anyone to do something they don't want to do. She can only pull out the things they are already feeling, and show them how she and other people are feeling. The target of her power is always free to do was they want; if they reject her song and feelings, Grace can't do anything about that.
ABILITY 2 Heightened Durability/partial immortality: Idols in Stray Gods can die, it's just more difficult than it is for humans. Grace will never age, and can't die from causes like illnesses or simple accidents. She is more durable than a human and it takes much more effort to harm her, and most mortal weapons won't be enough to wound her seriously. We're never really shown exactly how Grace's body would react to being, for example, shot, but it's continually stated that it's effectively impossible for a human to kill an Idol, so I'm going to say it would hurt but wouldn't be enough to kill her, and her body would heal from the attempt. Other gods and those with superhuman abilities would be able to hurt or even kill Grace, however, and magical or otherwise abnormally strengthened weapons would be able to hurt her as well.

OUT OF CHARACTER
Writing Style: Prose/Brackets are both good, any tense is fine (I usually use present)

Backtagging: Yep

Threadhopping: Usually yes, unless the thread is plot important, then please ask

Offensive Subjects: I'm usually good with whatever

IN CHARACTER
Physical Violence: Only when plotted out

Death/Dissipation: Only when plotted out

Physical Affection: Grace isn't the most affectionate herself, but she's used to being hugged/grabbed by Freddie so she won't mind it too much if your character is.

Shipping/Sex: I'm open to shipping if the chemistry is there! Grace is canonically bi, so gender doesn't matter. I'll also play out sex if I feel like it. It depends on how comfortable I am with the other player and the IC situation.

Mental/Communion: Yeah do whatever you want

Offensive Subjects: I will note here that certain parts of Grace's canon deal heavily with suicide and suicidal ideation, as well as abuse (sexual, physical, and emotional) - not on Grace's part but on the part of other characters. I can't really see a reason this would come up (Grace isn't going to spread her friends' business around), but just in case I'll mention it, and you can feel free to opt out if you wish!
